Thorpe Perrow open air ABBA tribute band concert
"You are a dancing queen, young and sweet, only 17 ............" or possibly a little older. No matter what age, ABBA music is always a good groove and this event really encourages you to dust off your vintage gear and get dancing. Take a picnic to make it a really great evening out and, when you've exhausted your best moves and worn your feet out, come back to Arbour Hill where you can relax and recover.
Newby Hall Firework Championships
Newby Hall is one of 6 venues hosting the Firework Championships this year. A great evening with access from 5pm and the main event starting around 9.30pm, you can buy food on site or take a picnic. Three of the leading firework companies will each showcase a 10 minute display with music, after which you can vote for your favourite. The evening is finishes with a display from the organisers, MLE Pyrotechnics, and the announcement of the winner. All displays are with professional level fireworks so there should be plenty of bangs, whooshes and fizzes to keep you entertained as you watch the sky light up. Once back at Arbour Hill you can finish off the evening sitting under the stars with a cup of tea or glass of wine and enjoy a peaceful sky before bed.
