Relax, refresh & revive in your own wood-fired hot tub

The soft, murmuring crackle of burning wood is a gorgeously relaxing sound to listen to whilst sitting in the tub, it just feels more authentic, more rustic, closer to the rhythms of nature. Relaxing in our wood-fired hot tub is a great way to be free of the trappings of a fast-paced modern life, and reconnect with the simplicity of the natural world. Sip your favorite tipple and share the experience with your loved one and soak up the breathtaking views during your cottage holiday break.
Guests are responsible for the preparations of the hot tub. There is a small charge of £12.50 per session (day) to cover the costs of wood, matches and firelighters used.

Not tempted, how about the endless health benefits...
For centuries people from all over the world have enjoyed and benefited from the therapeutic qualities of water. There is evidence that Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Turkish, Japanese and Nordic cultures have all used their own version of the hot tub or spa to heal ailments or achieve a state of relaxation unachievable by other means.
Wallowing in hot water has been known to reduce blood pressure, aid muscle relaxation and cause temporary pain relief due to the muting of the central nervous system's sensitivity. Thermal stimulation eases collagen-rich tissues, resulting in an increased range of joint motion, while the natural buoyancy of water supports bodyweight, reducing the significant strain on joints. It doesn’t stop there, an increase of blood flow and therefore reduction of blood pressure allows for total relaxation and a better nights sleep.

So how does it work?
Firstly, take a deep breath, expel the stresses and strains and slow down!
You'll need to add logs and stir the water with the wooden oar frequently, yes do stick your oar in and regularly! The water will take roughly 3 hours to heat up and you can then regulate the temperature by the amount of logs you put in and opening/closing the burner vents.
After the first session the water can be left in and will retain most of the heat due to the insulation used in the construction. Just top up the heat during subsequent sessions and we'll empty the tub when you leave.
Please, bathing costumes at all times, we have the wildlife to consider! and don't forget your favourite robe and outdoor towel. The preparation might be a job for the hunter gatherer, whilst the less practically inclined partner tends to preening, pampering and Prosecco!

Eco friendly too...
What’s more, wood-burning wooden hot tubs are eco-friendly. That’s right: these flames are not only red but green too. Wood is a natural source of renewable, sustainable energy. The Forestry Commission makes sure wood is gathered responsibly without depleting our precious forests. We are committed to luxury and relaxation being an eco-friendly pursuit.
That’s why we prefer our wood-burning hot tub rather than other electrically heated Jacuzzi types. The CO2 released by burning the wood is no more than would be released if the wood were simply left to rot. The solar energy that has already been stored to support the tree’s growth is now released, adding to the natural balance of the climate rather than introducing an excess of CO2 into the atmosphere. In other words, wood-burning stoves are carbon-neutral.
